Alberta Initiated New AAIP Streams For Law Enforcement Professional
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program(AAIP) stream for Law Enforcement Professionals is all set to start accepting candidate’s applications this year. However, the date is still undetermined.
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program is one of 11 PNP Canada that is all set to initiate a new permanent residency pathway. The pathway is generally focused on providing strong support for Police Services in Alberta, fulfilling two main goals: meeting the recruitment objectives for public protection and addressing the crime rate across the province.
Recent data shows that this Canadian province has noticed a massive decline in the number of Albertans who select police services, and this new Provincial Nominee Program Stream will help and support the Alberta Police Services.
In 2024, the Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program Law enforcement will allocate almost 50 nominations for Provincial Nominee Program candidates. The AAIP is also a Canada Express entry-aligned stream, which means candidates planning to apply for this stream must meet all the eligibility criteria for express entry to become eligible for Canada PR.
This article will provide complete details about the new initiative introduced by Alberta’s Government.
Who is eligible for Alberta’s new law enforcement program?
The AAIP has already clarified that the candidate should have a valid job offer from an employer with a membership in the AACP (Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police). The candidate must also meet all other express entry criteria to qualify for the new PR Pathway.
The following is the list of eligible occupations under the new pathway.
- Police officers, both commissioned and non-commissioned
- Associated professions in public safety
- Investigators for the police and other investigative fields
- Jobs in specialised law enforcement
AAIP(Alberta Advantages Immigration Program) – An Overview
Under the terms of the AAIP, an economic immigration program, the Alberta government may recommend immigration candidates for permanent residence if it deems them qualified to assist in filling labour market gaps and meeting demographic demands in the province.
The program offers multiple streams targeted at applicants who can fulfil these requirements, such as the following:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Alberta Express Entry Stream
- Accelerated Tech Pathway
- Rural Renewal Stream
- Farm Stream
- Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
- Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
- Rural Entrepreneur Stream
Important Note: Each AAIP stream has different eligibility criteria. Others, however, need a current connection to the province—for example, employment, family ties, or educational history in Alberta.
Due to the high demand for AAIP among recent immigrants to Canada, the province recently implemented new application rules to ensure that all applications can be processed expeditiously.
Industrial Expressways, Rural Innovation Streams, and Alberta Opportunity Water all impact the standards.
The county allows a certain number of applications into the pool each month. If the cap is reached and someone fails to apply in a month, they can try again the following month.
