One week, it’s a new Express Entry draw. The next, a study permit cap changes, a province opens a fresh stream, or a form quietly gets updated. If you’re trying to move to Canada, keeping up with all of this is a job in itself.
That’s why we run CIC Express. We follow the announcements, read the fine print, and explain what changed in plain language. No jargon, no panic headlines.
What we’re here for
Government websites are accurate, but they’re not always easy to read. Our goal is simple: when something changes, you should be able to understand it in two minutes and know what to check next.
What you will find here
- Express Entry: draw results, Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-offs, and eligibility changes
- Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): new invitations and streams, province by province
- Study permits: caps, rule changes, and what they mean for international students
- Work permits: Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) updates and open work permit news
- Family sponsorship and visitor visas: policy changes and processing updates
- Permanent Residence (PR) and citizenship: announcements and practical guides
How we work
We rely on official sources first, mainly Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Government of Canada. If we’re not sure about something, we don’t publish it as fact. We would rather be a little slower than wrong, because one wrong detail can cost someone months.
We also don’t push you toward any decision. We give you the facts. What you do with them is up to you.
Who reads us
Students planning their first study permit. Skilled workers watching CRS scores. Families working on sponsorship. Employers hiring from abroad. Most of our readers are in India, but the news is useful wherever you’re applying from.
A quick note
CIC Express is a news and information website. We are not a government body, a law firm, or a licensed immigration practitioner, and nothing here is legal advice. For your own case, check the official IRCC website or speak with a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or an immigration lawyer.
