IRCC Issues 4,500 Invitations in Latest Express Entry Under the French-Proficiency

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another round of invitations under the Express Entry system, focusing on candidates with strong French-language skills.
Held in September 4, 2025, a total of 4,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to eligible candidates. To qualify, applicants were required to meet the following criteria:
A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 446
An Express Entry profile created before June 16, 2025, at 7:21 a.m. (UTC)
Why This Draw Matters
This category-based selection highlights Canada’s ongoing efforts to boost French-speaking immigration outside. By prioritising French-proficient candidates, IRCC aims to strengthen Francophone communities across Canada and address labour market requirments.
Recent Trend in Express Entry
Over the past year, IRCC has been conducting targeted draws under Express Entry, focusing on candidates with in-demand skills or language abilities. The latest French-proficiency draw not only demonstrates Canada’s commitment to bilingualism but also provides a significant opportunity for candidates who may not have otherwise qualified under general draws.
What Candidates Should Do Next
Applicants who received an ITA now have 60 days to submit their permanent residence application through Express Entry. Those who did not receive an invitation can improve their chances by enhancing language scores, gaining additional work experience, or exploring other immigration pathways.
